ABOUT
Tye Blue is a producer, director, writer, musician, and creative consultant. With his visionary brand of producing, Tye has taken many of his outrageous ideas and actualized them into successful shows across multiple mediums. He's on the 3X EMMY nominated casting team of RuPAUL'S DRAG RACE; other casting credits include Bravo's PROJECT RUNWAY, Netflix's NAILED IT! and SAY I DO!, Snoop Dogg’s JOKER’S WILD, and many others. However, his career is rooted in decades of theatre and concert work, both behind the scenes and onstage. Most notably, he is the co-creator and director of the hit new musical slay-fest TITANIQUE, which has enjoyed sold-out presentations on both coasts. He has been perfecting this pop-culture-parody genre for the last several years in Los Angeles, where he co-created and directed the hit musical parodies of MEAN GURLZ, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, TROOP BEVERLY HILLS, THE BIG LEBOWSKI, & HOCUS POCUS at Hollywood’s venerable Rockwell Table & Stage. As a theatre director, his credits include SPRING AWAKENING, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, ALTAR BOYZ, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, ONE NATION UNDER, HUNNY BUNNY HOT BOX, BEYOND THERAPY, & POPCORN. In the concert space, Tye conceived and produced Rumer Willis’ cabaret debut at The Cafe Carlyle to rave reviews in the New York Times, and then produced her subsequent national tour outing dubbed THE OVER THE LOVE TOUR. Other concert work includes AGT star Brian Justin Crum's SOMEBODY TO LOVE, the Triple Bill series in LA, the long-running RAINBOW ON THE GREEN Annual Pride concert in Houston, and Nickelodeon/Dora the Explorer star Isabela Moner’s LA concert debut. He is the former Associate Producer for the Los Angeles concert series FOR THE RECORD, managing its Baz, Tarantino, John Hughes, & Zemeckis shows in Hollywood, Palm Springs, and Montreal Jazz Festival. He studied voice and saxophone at Berklee College of Music, theatre at Sam Houston State University, and worked for many years touring in Broadway musicals while singing and recording music. He released his EP “Here” in 2010. Please feel free to reach out via the 'contact' tab if you are interested in collaborating or learning more.
